The famous Michie Tavern is a Virginia Historic Landmark welcoming visitors for over 200 years. Established in 1784 by Scotsman William Michie, the Tavern served as the social center of its community and provided travelers with food, drink and lodging. Moved 17 miles to its present location close to Monticello in 1927, it still serves as a prime example of the Colonial Revival period.

Today, you enter another time when you cross the threshold of Michie Tavern. This is where your 18th-century counterpart came to dine and socialize. Visitors experience the Tavern's past through an historical journey which recreates life when Mr. Michie operated his Inn.
